I grew up on the gorgeous beaches of the Florida panhandle. As a child I loved nature, water, music and everything about art. I grew up drawing, painting, sculpting and collaging. I entered and won several art contest and knew I would be some sort of artist when I grew up.
After high school, The University of West Florida and The University of Central Florida I was honored to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design. From the first day in class I knew I was finally in the right place. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts specializing in Graphic Design. During and after college, I balanced working full-time in the hospitality industry with freelance jobs. I dreamt about moving to California after several visits during those years. The abundance of art, geographical and cultural diversity and standing on a balcony in the Hollywood hills of Los Angeles furthered that wish. I decided to finally make the move to the west coast many years later with my, then boyfriend, now husband, Bob. We sold all of our stuff and hit the road for a memorable month long adventure across the country. We landed in Los Angeles.
After settling in Los Angeles, I worked as a custom invitation designer in established stationery boutiques in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. It was in these boutiques where I learned the etiquette and precision of the printed invitation. I was exposed to a variety of event styles, clientele, and printing techniques. I refined my passion for paper, stationery and card design incorporating all the things I learned from school, colleagues and clients along the way.
My primary focus when approaching a new job is to transcend the vision of the client. The invitation is the very first insight guests receive and sets the tone for any event. It is very important, therefore, to make that impression representative and memorable. With the emergence of the digital era and E-vites, printed invitations unequivocally stand out as something special. Discovering a beautiful hand calligraphed envelope in your mailbox is not only thrilling but exclusive. I hope to carry on and surpass this long tradition.
I recently relocated from California to New York. I look forward to new and exciting design challenges and hope I have the opportunity to design your event invitation. If you have any questions feel free to contact me anytime.
